Immunisation Programme Review

Comprehensive diagnostic and roadmap for high-performing immunisation systems

The challenge

Immunisation programmes face mounting pressure: stagnating routine coverage, persistent zero-dose populations, vaccine hesitancy, new vaccine introductions, and tightening donor transitions under Gavi 6.0. Without a rigorous, independent programme review, weaknesses compound silently — until coverage drops or an outbreak exposes them.

What we do

  • Comprehensive EPI review using WHO/UNICEF EPI Review Guidelines and Gavi Joint Appraisal frameworks
  • Coverage analysis — administrative data triangulation with survey estimates, equity analysis and zero-dose population mapping
  • Service delivery assessment — facility-level reviews of cold chain, vaccine availability, micro-planning and outreach
  • Demand-side analysis — caregiver perceptions, community engagement structures and risk communication capacity
  • Programme management review — governance, financing, human resources, supply chain and data systems
  • Costed roadmap with prioritised recommendations aligned to national strategy and donor frameworks

How an engagement runs

National EPI reviews typically span 4–6 months across inception, fieldwork, analysis and validation. Sub-national reviews run 8–12 weeks. Thematic reviews — zero-dose, vaccine hesitancy, supply chain — run 6–10 weeks.
